December 16, 2011: For Immediate ReleaseAcclarion to record 3rd studio album in 2012! Since 2003, the accordion and clarinet duo, Acclarion, have charmed audiences across Canada and the United States with their virtuosic flare and entertaining stage banter. David Carovillano and Rebecca Sajo-Carovillano perform a wide variety of repertoire rarely heard by this unique instrumental combination. From dazzling brilliance to poignant introspection, their concerts take audiences on an unexpected, but delightful journey through three centuries of music. They take the time to connect with audiences that are more often than not, unsure of what to expect going in. This light-hearted and comical approach to performing makes the experience highly enjoyable for classical purists and novices alike. Acclarion's sparkling sound is recognizable around the world, thanks to frequent performances on public radio in countries such as the United States, France, and Australia. As a follow-up to their first two albums, the self-titled, Acclarion, released in 2004, and their 2008 offering, what if?, David and Rebecca are preparing for their newest album to be recorded in early 2012. Original compositions by David include a lush, dramatic film-inspired work, Twilight of Shadows. The piece combines haunting lyrical melodies with a wobbly circus waltz and harmonically rich chords evocative of a Parisian cafe. Scherzo is a light-hearted and unpredictable show piece which changes keys more often than a chameleon changes its colour. Barinsky is a rhythmically charged piece inspired by the folk themes of Bartok and the excitement of Stravinsky's orchestral works. It features live clarinet and accordion parts with a pre-recorded orchestral track. Pushing the envelope with ambitious arrangements of classical masterpieces is nothing new for Acclarion. In the past, they have recorded works such as Mozart's Marriage of Figaro Overture, Puccini's Nessun Dorma, and Faure's Requiem. For the upcoming album, they will tackle Mozart's Clarinet Quintet, with the string quartet parts combined into one accordion part. Paying homage to their roots, Acclarion demonstrates its "need for speed" through a Hungarian Czardas and an Italian Tarantella.
